Ken,

We only encountered two issues in going from 7.3.5 to 8.04.

Watch out for RAW devices, for example the migration utlitiy had problems with soft links to control files that were on RAW devices.
For data warehouses that want to use STAR TRANSFORMATION explain plans, you need to change numerous config.ora parameters, use bitmap indexes on FK's, use the CBO (stats and histograms) and revaluate the explain plans. But queries taking 4-6 hours under Oracle 7 now run in 3-5 minutes!!!
