Re: UNIX- another instance has database mounted

I had the same problem with the creation of a new DB with a new version of Oracle.
I had to execute following steps with the old version of oracle: connect internal
startup
shutdown normal
exit

I didn't correctly shutdown a running database... look in that direction. bye
