The 'alerter' is the part of the Tuxedo Transaction Monitor that interfaces with the local clients or local external database server. It's job is to 'alert' the local server/client of the arrival of a Tuxedo request or reply packet. Pardon me if my Tuxedo terminology is not orthodox but it is accurate.
