ERP World '98
August 5 & 6, 1998
San Diego Marriott Hotel and Convention Center

Today, companies that never considered themselves to be candidates for an ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution are thinking twice. In large part because ERP vendors have begun to scale their application suites to meet the needs of small- to medium-sized companies. Having saturated the Fortune 500 market, technology providers are now setting their sights on companies with as few as 1,000 employees. In turn, this opens up new opportunities for corporate and IT executives of mid-sized companies.

To meet the increased interest in ERP solutions among mid-market companies, Interex has launched the first annual ERP World Conference taking place concurrent with HP World '98. Users of all operating systems and platforms will find both strategic and tactical information in the 50+ ERP World sessions scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday at the San Diego Marriott Hotel.  Some of the solutions attendees will find at ERP World '98 include: · Making the business case for ERP · ERP - the real cost · Utilization of the Web for ERP · How to prepare your IT infrastructure for ERP · Common ERP system implementation problems · How to select the right ERP system and hardware · ERP and Windows NT - the real story · and more….

Wednesday's kick-off keynote speaker for ERP World will be Benchmarking Partners' David Dobrin who will discuss the "ROI Life Cycle for ERP." Dobrin's 9:30-10:30 am address will be followed at 11:30 am with a one-hour drill-down session called "Making the Business Case." Dobrin will conduct this follow-up session with Sam Wee, also of Benchmarking Partners. Thursday's keynote will be given by HP's Bob Walker whose address will explore "ERP in the Electronic World."

Other ERP World conference sessions will be led by industry experts offering case study and "how-to" illustrations that will demonstrate how ERP systems impact organizations before, during, and after implementation. Program tracks have been designed to address key topics, including:

· Getting Started
· Implementation
· Tools
· E-Commerce
· Supply Chain Management

Some session speakers will also address the end-user impact of ERP systems and explain how to plan and prepare for the "human side" of implementation.

In addition to the Conference sessions, ERP World attendees will have a chance to review and compare ERP and SCM (Supply Chain Management) vendors at the Expo in the San Diego Convention Center. A number of leading ERP vendors are exhibiting, such as: Ariba Technologies, Oracle, Baan, SAP, PeopleSoft, QAD, HP, IBM, Manugistics, Cap Gemini, Lawson Software, SSA, eXegeSys, TopTier Software, DataWorks, Andersen Consulting, Lilly Software, and Computer Associates.
