Oracle Financials Upgrade

I have a customer who is attempting to upgrade from release 10.4 to 10.7sc of the financials. The unusual part of this upgrade is that they want to 1) come up on 10.7sc on another box other than the one they are currently on and 2) the box that they are migrating to already has 10.7sc running on it. The existing 10.7sc software was installed for one of their newly acquired subsidiaries. After migration, they want to co-exist within the same database (multi-org or multi set-of-books configuration) with this subsidiary. Their initial request to me stated that they thought that the Oracle migration utility for the financials could be utilized. However, I believe that this situation is going to have to be handled as a data migration effort instead of an upgrade. Is my thinking correct? Also, is there a facility within the financials similar to the GL_INTERFACE table which would allow us to convert the A/R and A/P pieces?
