SQL*Net Question for experienced user

We still have an Oracle 6 database with SQL*Net 1.1.0.8. When I try to load the sql*net client drivers on a pc with more than 32 megs or RAM, it locks up. Is there a way to get sql*net to work on a pc with more than 32 megs RAM?
