Hi..

Oracle7 database implemented on sun solaris 2.51. The size of the databaase is around 20Gb.Presently using Sun Exabyte 210 auto-cartridge loader (10 slot) to do the cold backup of the database using the 'tar' utility. The time taken to do the cold backup is quite high.

Is there any way that the backup time can be reduced. Any solutions that can bring the backup time to a bare minimum would be appreciated.

Thks..
