Once the parameter was changed, the file was uncompressed successfully. Now the problem. When the DBA attempted to import the +2GB export file into the Oracle 8.04 database, he received the following << IMP-00002 and IMP00021

Try uncompressing the original file on the SGI machine and resending it. It may have got damaged in the ftp step or when you tried to uncompress it the first time. But first does the version or SGI Unix, Irex, you are running support 4G files. Export has been known not to error off when you exceed the OS file size limit. Also it is possibe to export via a pipe across machines straight into the imp utility. Talk to your system administrator. This would work if your original SGI based instance still exists.
