Newbie FAQ: Hot Backup

        Howdy! I'm an Oracle newbie who has to backup a livedatabse that's been in operation for 1+ year with *no* backups.

        I can't take the database down and I don't know a lot about Oracle. I have several hot_backup scripts, but I really don't understand them.

        Could someone recommend a good book/faq/site that has a step-by-step guide to backing up Oracle in both HOT and COLD modes?
