Hello everyone.
If you recognise this problem or know of a solution please let me know. We are setting up a new site with ASP code using Microsoft IIS4. Our platform is NT 4 Server and the database is Oracle 7.3.3. It's working fine on our test machine but when it's installed in the production environment we have a problem with the ODBC connection to Oracle. Depending on the ODBC driver we get different error messages: With Microsoft ODBC for Oracle, version 2.73.728301, when connecting I get the message:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]Error while trying to retreive text for error ORA-03121

With Oracle's ODBCdriver, version 2.00.0301, I get: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 5 (Oracle73).

The system error 5 means access denied, I figured that much out, but to what? And by whom?
The Internet Information Server service is run as SYSTEM on the machine so there shouldn't be any access problems, am I right? Auditing for File and Object Access failure does not give me anything in the event log.
If I try out the ODBC data sources with the ODBC Test application it works fine. The Oracle installation works fine and is used by an other application running Oracle Webserver.

All help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Fredrik Librand
