Oracle hosted a "Java Day" at company headquarters yesterday to discuss their plans for Java. Among the highlights:

CEO Larry Ellison made it clear that Oracle is not competing with Sun Microsystems. He stated, "We're filling in the things Java can't do. It doesn't do databases. It doesn't do networks. It doesn't do fault tolerance."
