What kind of tools does Oracle have to get raw data(such as flight data) into an Oracle format? <<

Oracle provides the ability to scale data and users on a variaty of platforms ranging in size from a PC to a Mainframe running under Windows95, NT, VMS, UNIX, and MVS as necessary.

Oracle supports numerous internal and external data types suitable for holding general business and scientific data. Besides the standard character, integer, and real values expected Oracle can also be used to store binarary data in sizes up to 2G.

Oracle provides a utility, sqlldr (SQL Loader), that can be used to load character representation of character, numeric, and date fields into Oracle. Binary data is usually loaded using a program written in a supported PRO*languale like C, COBOL, PL/1, Fortran, etc...

I hope this helps.
