Importing users

I would like to use the "import" command (IMP) to create a new user that is a copy of an existing user in another Oracle DB.

In essence, we have (for example) the user 'dagger' on one Personal Oracle (v. 7.3) DB, and we would like to "export" him and his attributes, such as the GRANTs issued to him, and re-create him via the "import" command in another DB. This does not work; if the CONNECT privilege has not been granted, the DMP file will not be read by Oracle (error 1031 [I think] occurs).

Is there any table or tables that identify which users are registered with the current session or BD? Can these tables be exported by the "export" command, albeit by logging in using the "system" account?

Any ideas greatly appreciated ...
