Hello Dennis:
You have to idenfity why it cannot insert the record: From the menu choose display message.
Probably there is a null value that has to be not null. Regards,
Mabel

+AD4- I have a table ITEMPRICE containing the fields ITEMID, DATE, PRICE and
+AD4-DISCOUNT. The primary key is a multiple-field primary key consisting of the
+AD4-first two fields.
+AD4-
+AD4- Here is my problem: the form I created for the purpose of data entry
into
+AD4-this table will not permit insertion of a record (all attempts result in
the
+AD4-generic +ACI-ORACLE ERROR: Cannot insert the record+ACI- message).
+AD4-
+AD4- I know my table is fine--I can insert data via the Oracle browser. I am
+AD4-also quite confident that my form is fine (it is simple enough, and anyway,
+AD4-I created it in the same way I created my other forms--which work
+AD4-perfectly).
+AD4-
+AD4- I suspect the problem has to do with the multiple-field primary key.
+AD4-
+AD4- Any clue what's going on? What should I do?
+AD4-
+AD4-Thanks.
