using oraperl

Hi e'one-

We are in the process of evaluating usage of oraperl:DBI,DBD in place of traditional Pro*C for some batch-style file handling & extraction using oracle databases

OS: Digital Unix
Oracle V7.3x

just wanted to know if there are any folks out there who have used oraperl before and what are the benefits/pitfalls.. compared would u recommend/suggest ?
