Hi Todd,

What makes Oracle DB server superior to Sybase in the eyes of management is
that they are sure Oracle will still be in business 5 years from now. Since
they often don't have the same confidence in the continued existence of Sybase
that automatically makes Oracle more acceptable to the suits who make the final
decisions.

As to the technical reasons it depends on the nature of your applications.
