Hi Richard:

I would be happy to help if I can...I am running PeopleSoft 5.12 HR but currently on Oracle 7.1 under OpenVMS. We are preparing to move to Oracle 7.3.2.3 shortly in preparation for PeopleSoft 7. I myself was browsing dejanews looking for Process scheduler return code error number information (#10).

But I disgress...what platform are you on? Checkout www.oug-ottawa.org there is a document of Oracle GOTCHAS provided there. Aswell as lots of other good Oracle stuff. One of which recommends to immediately avoid 7.3.2.X and migrate to 7.3.3.X... Problems with queries involving indexes which obviously could compound performance.

Obivously there are volumes written on Oracle Performance but more telling could be customizations you've made to PeopleSoft (# of security tree nodes, operator security implementation) or your network capacity. Drop me your number "off-line" and perhaps we could compare notes.

Regards,

Greg
