Description:

Under direct supervision, administers the Oracle database management system and related tools. This includes, but is not limited to installation, setup, monitoring, backup and recovery, and establishing database policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Setup, install, and maintain Oracle DBMS and related software. Monitor, report, and analyze the Oracle DBMS resources. Provide backup and recovery support of all Oracle databases and related application software.
Develop, document, and implement DBMS policies and procedures. Troubleshoots Oracle DBMS software and related application software (Oracle Financials, Clarify, etc.)

Tasks and Duties:

Perform software installations, upgrades, and patches on Oracle DBMS, Oracle Financials and other related software. Setup and maintain DBMS user accounts, application printer definitions, and other application administration tasks.
Collect, monitor, and provide reporting on the Oracle DBMS resources. This includes current and future estimates of disk space and cpu utilization. Implement backups and recovery using HP Omni-Back II software with Oracle hot and cold backup functionality.
Implement DBMS policies on security, software implementations, and software upgrades.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum two year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Processing, or related field.
Strong unix knowledge.
Prior industry experience administrating a relational database system, preferably Oracle.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail.
