ORACLE FAQs

Personal Oracle Ver : 7.1.4
Developer 2000 : 1.3.2

We are presently using a Client /Server Oracle Database running on a NOVELL 4.1.1 network attached to the server using client workstations with DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11 for workgroups setup with Microsoft TCP/IP-32 Ver 3.11b.
We have been informed by our IT department that all users within the company are being upgraded to a Windows NT Workstation (Ver. 4) using Novell client32 TCP/IP in place of the current Microsoft TCP/IP 32

Please could you answer these queries :-

  1. Personal Oracle Ver.7 for NT, if purchased would this upgrade be compatible in porting over our present Oracle 7 for windows 3.11 forms & reports.
  2. What TCP/IP stack does Oracle V.7 for NT support.
  3. Will Oracle 7 NT work with Novell Client32 TCP/IP.
  4. What is the Minimum memory requirements to run Oracle Ver.7 under NT.
  5. What is the Minimum Hardware requirements to run oracle Ver.7 under NT.
  6. Developer 2000 Ver 1.3.2 will this be compatible with NT or would a upgrade be required and would this effect the software which has been developed using this version.
  7. Will Oracle forms and reports developed using Developer/2000 on a windows NT platform work on a Windows 3.1 or Windows for workgroups 3.11 platform.

Any help would be grateful
