If you're really using Forms 2.3, then look for the RMONEY attribute for the field. I might suspect that you're using Oracle Applications with a prior version than 10.6, in which case I would suggest you turn to the AOL guide - there is a #FND function to format numbers/amounts - right now I just can't remember it.
