Oracle Connectivity Question

Hello,

The oracle server (7.3.2.2) is running on a HP 800 series machine. When we do an sqlplus the connection is almost immediate. However when the same sqlplus command is executed from another workstation on the network, the time for both connect and disconnect is about 1/2 a minute.

Once it connects, the execution of an sqlplus query is same in both the cases.

Is this a network related problem? Is there any way of improving the connection times by tuning the DB creation parameters.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Surendra
