Thanks for many good suggestions to my problem ! It's good to see the 'net being really useful for something .... ;-)

Sorry for the confusion about the tool I'm using in developing the app. I am doing this application in ACL (a kind of Tcl) and is querying a Oracle database. I see now that it perhaps was not a good idea to send this questions to the ms groups.
