From the "DBA Pipeline" - a free internet-based community for Oracle DBAs. The DBA Pipeline is hosted by popular author and speaker Mike Ault ("Oracle8 Administration & Management", John Wiley & Sons), and is sponsored by RevealNet. http://www.revealnet.com/dbapipe/index.htm

January's Tip of the Month
Using remote dial-in software (UNIX)

When using remote dial - in software to access Oracle Installer or SQLDBA on UNIX, set ORACLE_TERM as follows:

ORACLE_TERM=386;export ORACLE_TERM

This will enable use of up and down arrows and other function keys.

Happy New Year!
