Using LONG values w/ Oraperl

Hi.

I would appreciate it if someone could post or mail me small sample programs which use Oraperl to INSERT a LONG value into the database and to recover a LONG value from the database. The LONG should be a respectable LONG, i.e. over 255 characters.

I've searched the Web, and looked through an Oraperl archive and I haven't been able to find a simple, straightforward demo of this.

Ultimately, I'm interested in loading and recovering mid-sized text files which contain embedded newlines and CR's. I would expect to use CLOBs in ORACLE 8 eventually, but we aren't there yet.
