What "ora" message do you get?



It seems that have same problemas you have. I am using a personal Oracle
7.3, and if I make complex select-statement it works fine, but if I use
this select-statement in an update statement, I get an ORA-02049. Oracle
recommended to increase to DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT to 300 but then my
SQL*Plus hangs.
