Q: How to do a network based install of the Oracle Client software to lots of PCs

Is there a clean, simple way of doing a network based installation of the PC Client software? This will be for WIN3x and WIN95 clients.

They only need the required software to use SQL*NET and TCP/IP to make connections to a SUN Oracle server.

Why the network install? 'cuz the support folks do not want to walk around to each PC with a little portable CD player trying to install the Oracle software.

Why not use a networked CD-ROM drive? 'cuz somebody named Mr. Big_and_Important has decided that we will not give the users access to network CD-rom drives!

So, we are looking at copying the installer CD and it's 320M of data onto a network drive - UNLESS, somebody knows exactly what files / directories we would need to copy off the CD to do the install.

If I understand Oracle, they don't offer a solution to my needs. Well, somebody out there must have done this.

Thx!!
