Dan Clamage's "Through a lot of blood, sweat and tears, pal." is real,
however to be a real DBA and not an installer + grant and compile
executor I would suggest to start with SQL (last standard is some 1200
pages) but you'll be up and running in 4 hours and get your hands
dirty..
PL/SQL is a must as step 2, but even before take all the documentation
(Oracle concepts is the first - it requires 2 university courses as
prerequisite data structures + relational databases ) after these you'll
find your way alone
