They are few and far between, but I've come across a couple which are very handy to use as a starting point:

"The Data Model Resource Book" by Silverston, Inmon, Graziano "Data Model Patterns: Conventions of Thought" by Hay

The first one I have used extensively and is basically a fully documented
set of data models for People & Organizations, Products, Ordering Products,
Order Delivery & Invoicing, Work Effort, Accounting & Budgeting, Human Resources, and data warehousing in general.

The second I have not read yet, but plan to very soon. The concepts in these books can help you to model systems that are not even included in their models and you can likely use part of many of the models in any system.
