pinning packages question

I have a question that concerns pinning packages in Oracle, specifically v7.2 but could concern newer versions of Oracle. If a package is pinned in the shared_pool, and then modified, what happens to the state of the new package. Is it still pinned?

I realize most packages that are pinned are stable and probably will not change, therefore it is not something to generally worry about. Any insight into pinning and the state of packages would be helpful.
