You won't be able to get to the VAX currently because the listener on the VAX is not setup to listen for TCP/IP client connections. To make that work you must make sure your ip stack is supported by oracle / DEC UCX is. then you must configure oracle listener to use IP. relink oracle listener with TCP/IP options selected in oracle installer. Then you must make modifications to you listener.ora file to provide the address list entry for the VAX similar to the pointman entry. Enter in tcp protocol and port.
