Jeff,

Let me preface this in saying that we run on Netware and not Unix, so things may be different.

SQL*Net v2.1.x should have come on your software media. Also, note that you cannot take a SQL*Net from another realease (ie v2.2.x from Oracle relase v7.2.x) and run it against v7.1.x. on the server side. On the client side, its ok, but try to run a lower client than the server. We have found stranges things happen if we run a higher client version than server.
