Job Description
Title: Senior Programmer/Analyst
Functional Description:
The primary focus of this position is the design and implementation
of a transportation application(screens, reports , utilities)
using ORACLE (r) SQL*Forms, Reports, PL/SQL
(procedures and packages) and some Pro*C programming. The
position involves participating in the functional and database
design of application software. This position may also need to
assist in documentation, training, installation, and
maintenance of this software, as well as working closely with
users and user teams in the development of applications.
Experience Required:
At least 5 years of programming and systems analysis with
progressively increasing responsibilities.
Experience with ORACLE Tools (Forms 3.0, Reports 2.0, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Designer/2000, Developer/2000) and Client/Server methodology are required. Must have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Those with experience and knowledge in the following areas will
be given preference:
UNIX Shell scripting, Pro*C, ORACLE DBA skills, Database design,
and knowledge in Transportation/Logistics applications.
Education:
A B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field is desired
or equivalent experience.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Develop, code, and maintain transportation computer applications using tools such as SQL*Plus, ORACLE Forms, ORACLE Reports, PL/SQL, etc. 2. Analyze users needs and design application solutions. 3. Evaluate new software packages and recommend solutions to client/server development environment issues. 4. Assist with user training and support in the use of applications and tools.
Status:
Full time permanent position.
