Yahoo! Inc, in Santa Clara, CA., developer the leading internet search and directory guide, is looking for an engineer with Developer/2000 experience to become a key contributor to our Advertising System.
This individual will be responsible for building the state of the art order entry and scheduling component of a web advertising system to handle the largest site on the web. This system is highly distributed and scaleable, capable of handling millions of users per day. You must have a BSCS/MSCS or equivalent and 4+ years of Oracle RDBMS and Developer/2000, Perl, and C/C++ experience. You must have experience in all aspects of application design and implementation. Your Developer/2000 experience should include the design and implementation of "user exits".
A successful candidate will:
1) Demostrate an ability to understand an application's requirements
based on users' descriptions of their needs.
2) Understand how to transform user requirements into an Oracle
Developer/2000 application.
3) Have direct experience extending the Developer/2000 product using
C/C++ in the form of 'user exits'.
4) Be able to function with equal comfort in Oracle's RDBMS and
Developer/2000, Perl, and C/C++.
5) Demonstrate past experience with the deployment of a large scale
application into a production environment.
