LATE BREAKING NEWS!!!
1997 DEVELOPERS COMPETITION - OCTOBER 7-9TH
In the interest of running a more focused and cutting edge event
(and as is the prerogative of the event's organizers), PLEASE NOTE
that there will be TWO competitions run this year at the 1997
Developers Competition, the general competition similar to that
which you have seen in the past and an INTERNET COMPETITION. The
previously described gold medal categories will be dropped in favor
of this format, BUT cash awards will be made to the winners of each
competition and the same problem will be presented to all
competitors. So sharpen those Internet development tools and sign
up today to compete in the biggest little software developers
competition the world has ever seen!
IN OTHER NEWS... There are already eight teams signed up for this year's competition and our mass mailing to past competitors has barely hit the streets. To be assured a slot, it's best to get signed up early. An added benefit is that you might even get a little precompetition publicity right here such as:
Mark Nepon and Tom Yuhas, previous medal winners and perennial competitors, will be back this year and have already claimed the pole position of Team #1 by being the first to sign up. Mark and Tom will again be using DataPerfect to attack this year's problem.
So don't delay, sign up today!
On the sponsors front, it appears that VAR Business will take the lead this year bringing to the table a conglomerate of co-sponsors yet to be named. Informant Communications joins the Gold fold for the first time this year while Magic Software returns as a Gold sponsor and is joined by newcomer, USoft. APPX and Oracle are inked as Silver sponsors for this year's competition. A host of Bronze level sponsors, those product donors you competitors all love, are currently being solicited.
That's it for now, but stay tuned for more developments as the 1997 Developers Competition rapidly approaches!
