Writing a C program to access Oracle

Dear All

sorry for the trivial question but I am new to Oracle after working with Sybase for some time.

In Sybase, there are 2 options to write C program to access the DB. Either thru embedded SQL/C or a more low level approach like DB-Client.

I just picked up some Oracle manuals, and in looking at Prc*C/C++, it looks
very much like the Sybase Embedded SQL/C version.

There seems to be no other docs that I can find that would reference another
more low level approach (as compare to Sybase DB-client).

Wonder if someone can point out if there is such a lower level approach than Pro*C or am I just missing something?

Please email me directly.

thanks
