Interview Questions

I am currently in the position where I have to interview candidates for the post of DBA. I am compiling a list of the questions that I would like to ask the candidates. I have come up with the obvious ones like explain archive log mode, replication, different back-up strategies and their merits etc.

Has anyone on the list any suggestions for additional questions which would be suitable for an interview situation. I am toying with the idea of including a short (30 min) written exam, so any questions suitable for this would be appreciated also.

I am not aiming to include very complex or in-depth theories or concepts, rather I want to pitch it at a level where I can easily filter out the spoofers.
