Ditto. I agree that much of IBM's wares have not demonstrated enlightened user interface design but that is relatively low on my selection criteria for comercial products. The breadth of the DB2 offering, and its remarkable credibility with mainframe programmers, is very persuasive.

Sticking to the point vis a vis Informix, I hope that Informix sticks to the business of database software. Eg: the Illustra technology being rolled into Universal server is good stuff. I hop they don't stray far afield into applications or development tools at the expense of the core products.
