Calling COBOL from MF Oracle SPs ? stored procedures

I'd welcome any information about calling/executing a COBOL program from a Oracle stored procedure...

Background : We have existing COBOL programs w/ logic & embedded SQL

	      that were called by the older application mainframe 
	      frontend that I want to utilize as is, but access from a 
	      new non-mainframe PowerBuilder 5.0 frontend.
	      
	      One alternative may be to create "shell" stored procedures 
	      on the mainframe Oracle and have them access these COBOL
	      programs.
