Using SQL*Net 2.3 with Oracle 7.2.2 and Listener 2.2.2

Hello,

I would like to use a web database query program to connect to an Oracle 7.2.2 database running on an Unix box with Solaris 2.5. However, the software requires SQL*Net 2.3 (and the corresponding ODBC driver version) to connect to Oracle (it is multi-threaded). Can I simply upgrade SQL*Net 2.2.2 (and ODBC) on my Windows NT web server without having to change the database at all? In other words, will the 2.2.2 listener "hear" requests from a SQL*Net 2.3 client?

Thanks,

Nancy Capitanio
