Vijay...first, sorry about the previous reply. thought I had pushed re:Mail instead of re:News.

what kind of transactions? Do both systems have to be kept in sync real time, or can you queue, store and forward (async replication). If so, how frequently?

Replication is usually recommended for moderate transaction levels. Transaction type and volume, sync versus async needs are critical to answering #2.
