Check out Data Junction... it's very flexible.. sometimes a big sluggish, but it has some really nice features such as saved conversions, multiple driver support and good field mapping.

(and no, I don't work for them)

If you want speed, you're best bet is to use the DBMS vendor's products to get the data out into a standard format (delimited, fixed length, etc), then use those DBMS vendor's utilities to bulk-load the data in.

A bit more work requiring the use of "format files", but the tradeoff in speed is tremendous.
