Use show errors Trigger Trigger_name is going to work from the command line in a SQL*Plus session. My comment on Show errors regarding select * from user_errors order by line is a direct result of Oracle's Developer 2000 also not returning error messages. It seems that V7.3 no longer will show developers errors with only the show errors command and worse in the D-2000 piece it compiles the code and thinks everthing is O.K.

Oracle has taken the view that triggers are now compiled at storage time and not at run time so the version of Developer 2000 is out of date and will again work correctly in a newer version with an unknown relaease date....
