According to the error messages and codes manual that came with Version 5.1 for DOS. error numbers in 10000 range are for recursive error numbers, to get the real error subtract 10000.

ora-0117 cannot create extent, no more space in system partition Cause: there is no more space for data in the SYSTEM partition.
