Cannot close spool file

I am in SQL*Plus and have output that I want to spool to a file. I am doing the 
following:



SQL> spool well_id.lst


SQL> /



     .

     .

     .

     .



SQL> spool out


cannot close spool filelpr: lw : unknown printer



The dots above represents output.


I tried spool out and spool off but neither works. 
Could someone suggest a solution.
