First of all, running your database in NOARCHIVELOG means your physical backup is the only point in time you can recovery to. And with your Export hosed, so are you.

You'll have to recover using the last approach you mentioned, however if you restore your physical backup to a new instance, you won't have to destroy your original and then you can just copy from the new instance to the original.
