I heard that running 7.3.2.2 on NT 4.0 showed better performance than that on 3.51, but I only heard that once. NT is stable and Oracle runs well on it. But this is not an easy question to answer. Get your network guys to tune the NT and the network TIGHT, and make sure the code for the client application you'll be running is efficient (assuming you'll have home-brewed apps.) Once that's done, and you decide to use Oracle, you can also tune the database a hundred different ways! Received on Wed Jan 08 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
