Intercepting front end generated SQL at the Oracle Server

Greetings.

I have a 3rd party front-end application (PowerBuilder 4) driving Oracle 7.0.15 on a Netware 3.0 Server. We use SPX.

I have just discovered a user scenario that causes damaging changes to the database. I am not ready to upgrade all users with a front-end fix to the problem.

Is there any way, through Oracle, to look for and "intercept" the sql statements resulting from this user action? I would then cancel the action and issue a "feature broken" error message back to the front-end.

Tks,
