Power Objects Barcode Printing ???

I am building a library database & application which requires me to print barcodes from information in one of the Oracle tables. I'm using POV2, and am looking for a solution to print these lables. They are 1x2.5 inch labels, and are printed on a serial label printer. Because I do not have much experience interfacing with input/output devices, I am not quite sure what the best solution is. The two options I am considering are :

  1. Use a 3rd party label software program, that supports OLE2. However I do not know if I can, or how, to pass data from a specific record in a table to the label program.
  2. Is there a procedure in a DLL that I can use to pass the information to and print in a barcode format.

Any information that anyone has to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
