Hi,

I'm evaluating different Dababases for out specific applications. We have two different type of applications to access the Database.

One of the application will access the Database on a remote machine throgh the TCP/IP network and. Another application will access the Database on the same machine where the Database engine is resided.

Since the 99% of the Database access will come from the application which is run on the same machine, I prefer that there is more efficient way to access the Database between the client and server.

After look the Oracle books in the book store, I found that Oracle support the "Host Terminal Type applications". Does "Host Terminal Type applications" mean the communication between client and server is bypass the TCP/IP stack?

I appreciate that if you can answer me the question?
