Sort_area_size and pga_aggregate_target

Hi everyone,

This is related to Oracle v 12.1 on 2 node RAC on AIX. I've a heavy duty import process (impdp). Data doesn't that long. However the index creation taking way long, roughly around 7-8 hours. As per original setting:

pga_aggregate_target = 0
Sort_area_size = 2136746229

Tried setting pga_aggregate_target to 8G but the index creation prolonged few minutes more than original. This is standard edition so cant use parallel. Any idea of what optimal values for the two parameters may help in this whole process?
